Have you ever read something several times and discovered something “new” in it?
Maybe it was a story from your spiritual scripture, maybe a line “jumped out” in a movie, or maybe it was one of your favorite books, and when you read that story, your eyes open wide, your breath catches, and your heart skips a beat because of the inspiring thoughts that touch you as if for the first time.
I love to have a book with inspirational messages on my night stand, because that way I can have inspirational thoughts right before sleep.
The brain is especially receptive just before sleep and just upon awakening, because the “speed” at which your brain runs is cycled down to a slower level.. So that’s a great time to put in something uplifting, moving, or success-oriented.
Anytime I need a lift, I start appreciating the abundant blessings in my life. I love my home, my dog, cats, coffee, farm fresh eggs from my hens, the chickens, birdsong, the kestrel hawk flying overhead, the crows, the bunnies who shelter under my porch, my super friends, the screen reader that allows me to use the computer, the internet and so much more.
In minutes, I feel abundantly blessed and content.
Calendar type books with a message for each day are excellent, because no matter what day of the year you start, you have inspirational messages for that day, and by the time next year rolls around, it will feel like a whole new message, because you’ll receive it on a different level.
Quotes are great, but something a little more substantial helps you receive the message more deeply.
Are you looking for unusual gift ideas that inspire feelings of gratitude?
Maybe it’s a gift for yourself to inspire you on days when you’re feeling down, need a lift, or could use a little stress relief…
Maybe it’s a gift for a friend or loved one…
Or how about that person who tends to grumble and you want them to stop? Gratitude is the closest thing to a cure you can find. That person is hurting inside and truly needs a lift.
Feelings of gratitude get you into a better mood, relieve signs of stress, and end to bring about more of those things for which you are grateful.
