Storytelling Ideas: Imagine What If It All Goes Right?
When you hear the word “storytelling,” what comes to mind right away? probably either bedtime stories with your kids, camping trips or story time at the library.
Storytelling is the most powerful transformation makeover tool ever, because the stories you tell yourself inside your head directly create your life experience.
Here’s an example.
recently on one of the group calls in which I participate, one woman was talking about recapturing a sense of play.
But what she projected from her mind completely contradicted her playful words.
The story in her head included an image of her falling and being hurt along with her mental inner voice saying, “I’m going to fall. I’m so afraid of falling.”
This image was so strong that 2 of us picked up on it.
And sure enough, right after the call, this woman went outside, fell, tumbled down a hill, and hurt herself.
That’s the power of storytelling, and it is an all-too-common story of what could go wrong.
One of the best storytelling ideas is to interrupt that worst case scenario scene running in an infinite loop inside your head.
Instead of letting your thoughts go out of control with fear, worry, and worst case scenarios, take charge of your thoughts and create a new story.
What if it all goes RIGHT?
I LOVE this song, “What If It All Goes Right?” It’s a storyteller’s dream, because Melissa Lawson has created her own new story.
She has a rags to riches story because she went after her dream and imagined what might happen if it all went right.

Storytelling Ideas for Changing Your Own Story
Don’t fight the stressful, fear-based, repetitive thoughts. Conflict only creates more of what you do NOT want.
Don’t deny the feelings of fear either. No stuffing things so they’ll explode later.
What you want to do is:
1. Create the new story you tell yourself about “What if it all goes right.” Be vivid. Involve the senses. Get emotionally charged. Write this story on paper or computer. Or speak it into a recorder. Make it feel so real that it becomes a part of you.
2. Face your feelings and fears head-on. Look them in the eye and, with steely determination, let them know that YOU win.
3. Have a written dialogue with your fear or other repetitive thoughts. Let the fear “say” what it wants to say. Then go into your own place of power and write, “Thanks for sharing. Here’s another perspective…” followed by your new story.
Certainly, you can do all this on your own. However, to become the master storyteller of your own life, you might want some guidance.
