The Gift of Acknowledgment and Gratitude

Today I was in Walmart and the checker saved me some money on my bill because WalMart price matches any other store on specials, and another store had turkeys at 59 cents per pound. I only knew about the store that had them for 69. Sure, she saved me about $1.20, which maybe isn’t much in the grander scheme of things, but I thanked her and told her she gets the prize for a random act of kindness.

This is such a small thing to say “thank you” to someone and acknowledge them. Yet how often do we rush through life and neglect to notice and give thanks for those small things – and the big ones – that come our way?
