How to not only Write a Book But Get Known: How Can Authors, Musicians, Artists and Business Owners Launch YOU, not just Your Product?

As you might imagine, I know a bunch of best selling authors and huge piles of authors with books in print. There is 1 conversation I’ve had so many times that I’ve lost count.
The same question came to me once again recently while I was at a conference.
“How do I get my name out there?”
I’m not sure where “out there,” is, but everyone seems to want to be known there. I think “out there” is the place like Cheers, where “everybody knows your name.” And naturally every author – every product developer – wants sales. Who wouldn’t.
If you think that hoards of people are going to buy your book or product just because you created it, let me burst your bubble right now.
Unless you’re Oprah, Donald Trump, President Obama, or Britny, it’s not gonna happen. If you’re already a household name, you’re “out there” already. Anything you touch will turn to money.
If you’re someone like me or you, then you have to do a little more work. Like build your credibility, build a profit funnel that makes sense, and so forth.
Yet most people go about things backwards.
Backwards, as in…
Write the book and THEN concern yourself with who wants the book.
Write the book and THEN look for the market.
Write the book and THEN wonder how to get sales.
Write the book and THEN try to fit it into some sort of business.
or organize a big Amazon campaign and THEN wonder why all you have the month after the launch is a fond memory, a few dozen book sales, and no business.
Are you making that mistake? Are you looking only to short-term publicity and not long-term sustainability for your business?
One of the marketers I know who does those over-blown launches went wacky after he made a pile of cash. Now he has to earn over $20 grand a month to keep his household running.
When you do a single product launch or book launch, you put yourself in the position of having to find something else to launch at regular intervals in order to keep cash flowing. Your income fluctuates dramatically. You can’t sustain a fever-pitch feeding frenzy product launch or book launch for more than a few weeks. Too much happens behind the scenes to make the launch work, and it is a short-term solution at best.
How about launching YOU and your business not with a huge burst of fanfare, but with an eye to building a sustainable, stable business? doesn’t that make more sense?
The thing that many authors miss is this: You can pay a pile of money to someone to run the same old-same old Amazon launch that’s getting tired and worn out, or you can discover how to launch YOU.
