#1 Bestselling Author of Conversations with God Neale Donald Walsch Invites YOU to Be a Messenger Author in the Movement of Change

Are you called to share a powerful message? Do you feel a burning desire to share something with people? If so, then you, like me, are a messenger.

A Messenger is someone who feels that sense of urgency around spreading your message. It’s not about fame or fortune. It’s about being a conduit of transformation in people’s lives.

Maybe you want to change the world, or maybe you want to touch one single group in a powerful and transformative way. Sharing your message is much more than just writing some stuff in a book. Your message needs to be designed in such a way that people open up to receive it.

It has been my honor to be one of the first Ambassadors fo Change with a Messenger Mini-book coming out very soon. If you have been reading this blog, you may know that I did an opinion poll to have you help me select the cover image.

Below is the fabulous cover. Kudos to Robert Evans of the Messenger Network for his brilliant cover design, and thanks especially to  frankoppermann Frank oppermann, who I’m convinced took that photo specifically to be my book cover. See the image on IStockPhoto.

And now…the COVER of The Peace Seed!

Cover of The Peace Seed: Personal and Global Transformation through Storytelling by Ronda Del Boccio

This is the testimonial I left for Mr. Oppermann:

Thank you for the beautiful photo “Die Sonne einfangen”. I selected it for the cover of my new book The Peace Seed www.ThePeaceSeed.com. This is how people describe the cover: magical, it looks like a miracle is happening now, powerful, really grabs your attention, compelling, looks like 3D, pops off the page.

Here is a link to the book cover of The Peace Seed: (link omitted)

You have made my book cover something so special.

Thank you.

Ronda Del Boccio, the Story Lady

Discover the Movement of Change

How would you like to have Conversations with God author Neale Donald Walsch help you craft and share your message?

yes – YOU can be a Messenger of Change and share your most important teachings in a little pocket-sized mini-book…and you will be a published author! Watch as Neale Donald Walsch shares why he is part of the Movement of Change:

This is a written message I received through 10 Million Clicks for Peace and the Messenger Network. Isn’t it great how we all work together? I do hope you will join the  movement and share the teaching you were BORN to share!

Message from Julian Kalmar, co-founder of 10 Million Clicks for Peace, and Neale Donald Walsh, author of Conversations with God)

(beginning of message)
Dear Ronda:

I am delighted to announce that “Conversations With God” author, Neale Donald Walsch, has joined Robert Evans, Rick Beneteau and me in the Movement of Change.

So, what does this mean for you?

Note From Neale Donald Walsch

My dear friends,

If you feel that you have a “message” deep inside of you that you yearn to share with the world, but just don’t know how…or even what, specifically, that “message” is…are you going to be happy to read this!

My friend Robert Evans with the Messenger Network has been helping messengers over the past couple years find unique and powerful ways to discover and share their message, and now I am going to be joining Robert in one of his most exciting projects ever: The Movement of Change.

I’m participating with Robert in this project for two reasons: First, because it aligns perfectly with the CWG teaching that we are all messengers, with our lives giving us wonderful opportunities to bring a message of oneness, hope, and love into the world. Second, because this project is about writing and publishing little spiritual mini-books, and that is a wonderful way to place into the world a really BIG message!

That’s right! This program is about how you can become a true messenger, creating a unique way that can move the message that burns within your heart to the hearts of others.

Here’s what I love about this project:

It will focus on you finding and sharing your message, not on becoming a huge successful author. That could happen, of course, but that is certainly not the point or the main focus. The point of the program is to activate what Conversations with God says: if you touch the lives of only a handful of other people with a message of oneness and love, you will have made an incredible gift of your entire life here on earth. And, of course, this program will allow you to touch many more than just a tiny handful; it will allow you to reach many hundreds. Perhaps even many thousands.

The Movement of Change program aims to create a huge “moment” in our world where “change” will be produced in the lives of many, many others—one person at a time.

  • The program walks you through the entire process of writing and publishing your own small booklet, and then connecting its readers to an amazing online environment that deepens the message in the book through audio, video, still images, additional text, and a powerful workbook system.
  • It’s not just a program in which you participate on your own. It is a global movement involving many Messengers sharing a collective goal: to send one million positive messages into the world.
  • It’s not a short-term program, but one from which you will gain maximum benefit as you move through a process with myself, Robert, his team, as well as other Mini-Book authors, over a period of one year. We want to make sure we have plenty of time to teach you everything we know about the writing process, the publishing process, the best and most effective ways to use the internet, and the most powerful approaches to marketing your book once you have it printed and in your hands.
  • We also want to have time to explore with you how you can ultimately use your book as a platform for the message that lives within you to come forth in other really amazing ways.

I love this idea and I’m even working on several of my own Mini-Books, and will soon be publishing my first one and connecting it to the amazing on-line technology that is part of this program.

Now let me tell you exactly how I’ll be involved in The Movement of Change with you:

  • Robert and I have just produced a really great 2-hour program on being a spiritual author in which you can hear tips and suggestions from me on writing, publishing, and having your book represent your message and yourself as a messenger in the most effective way. This presentation, in both audio and video form, will be a part of your program. It will be split into 14 parts and delivered to you over the course of the journey you’ll go on.
  • Every three months I’ll hold a conference call with the authors in the movement to support them on their journey of writing and sharing their book.
  • I’ll send you a copy of my own first Messenger Mini-Book so you can see how I’ve decided to use this wonderful idea and terrific technology to further my message.

AND…on top of what I’ll be offering, you’ll get amazing value from Robert and his team, such as:

  • An 8-CD home study program on the Messenger Mini-Book idea for you to use as a guide for writing and publishing your current and future mini-books
  • An online author account to create an unlimited number of online environments for your message(s)
  • A 30 day, 20 audio clip program in which Robert walks you through every step needed to write your mini-book in 30-days. The last time a group of authors went through this 30-day journey, 95% of the authors completed their book.
  • A recorded webinar showing you how to create the most powerful online environment
  • A chance to make a commitment to your writing journey and then, once you meet the goal of writing your book in 30-days, the reward of a marketing package that promotes your book in many different ways including it being published in a catalog that will go out to 1,000 book stores.
  • Writing and publishing support calls from Robert and his team throughout the first two phases of the journey
  • And… once your book is published, you’ll get 52 weeks of marketing tips on how to get your book out into the world and truly be a part of the One Million Messages movement.

I know this is a lot to share in this email, so let me leave you with where we started…if you have the feeling that you have a message that is ready to come out through a book and want to be a part of a collective movement of other authors with the same desire, then click the link below and learn all about this Movement of Change!

Neale

My great hope is that you will take the next step to watch our video and ultimately allow Neale, Robert, Rick and me to guide you on the path of becoming a published author by discovering and expressing your passion as a Messenger of Change.

May peace, joy and meaning light your path,

Julian Kalmar, Founder
10 Million Clicks For Peace

P.S. Even if you’re already a published author, you’ll find the 1-year Marketing Program and Online Environment highly meaningful because you know that the biggest part of writing a successful book is in the marketing. Of course, you’ll find the opportunity of working with so many inspired and inspiring like-minded authors a rare privilege. The synergy and support of the group has been invaluable to our past authors as you’ll discover by clicking the link above.

P.P.S. The Movement of Change is part of our peace education and awareness effort. Your help in bringing important world-changing ideas to the hearts and minds of others is vitally important to the future of the planet. Whether your book is about personal happiness, achieving harmony in your life, solving the global problems of clean drinking water, hunger, or other social issues, we honor you for having the courage to stand by us and help bring these important ideas to the consciousness of humanity. Part of the proceeds from this program go directly towards helping us deliver on our mission of creating peace in the world. Thank you for being here.

(end of message)

in PEACE,

Ronda

Could You Write a Book that Shares Your Message? The World Needs Your Message NOW!

The world needs your message.

I was on a call recently on which someone has been procrastinating for a couple months getting her message and her book out of her and into the world. I could hear the fear in her voice as she said, “I’m not really a writer.”

I cannot count the times I have seen people who yearn to write a book and share their message. What separates the average person with a message and someone like Oprah? Probably many things, but in my opinion, the biggest barrier that the budding messenger has comes down to one trait alone.

I did not have the opportunity to express to her what I share here with you now.

You are the change the world craves. There is no time for you to feel fearful or doubtful of yourself. Trust in your message. The time for peace, love and healing – the time for the message inside you that calls forth every drop of greatness within you – is NOW.

Now.

If you feel fear and let it stop your message, then you let just a little more darkness enter the world. Your message is not about you. Your message is ready to burst forth from you so that it can raise the consciousness vibration of one person at a time to make the world a wonderful home.

If you cannot trust yourself or your skill, then trust the message. Because the message is from the Source. You are the messenger, not the message. Trust your message.

The desire within you that caused you to be a messenger is there because you are truly meant, even designed, to bring forth the teachings and wisdom given for you to plant into the world.

Trust in your message and trust that you have enough.

You ARE enough.

Open yourself and let the message flow through you.

Be a Messenger of Change

How would you like some help as you craft your message in the most powerful way? How would you like to be a published author of your own 32–page mini-book within a short time?

I am an Ambassador of Change, and the same materials I’ve been using to create The Peace Seed (which comes out in about a month) are the same ones you will use as a Messenger of Change. I will even give you an email consultation when you are almost finished writing your minibook so I can help you get the best possible leverage out of your book.

Why do I want you to be part of this program? Because Robert Evans has put together excellent resources that guide you through the writing process. When you meet the deadline for writing your book, you then get more guidance through the publishing process and then through marketing your book.

Discover how to be a Messenger Author here.

How to Write a Book: Cover Image for The Peace Seed is Chosen! And the Winner Is…

A few days ago, I asked your opinion on the cover image for one of my upcoming books, The Peace Seed: Personal and Global Transformation through Storytelling. I have big plans and dreams for this book, and I am so excited at all the responses to the blog post, which you can see at ProfitableStorytelling.com/opinion.

The image below shows a thumbnail of the 6 finalists I gave you from which to choose.

The cover of a book is a big deal, because it is the first impression. You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

Today on a webinar for those who subscribed, I revealed the image I selected, and I also finalized the “copy” – the words – for the back cover. Well, I think I finalized it, anyway! I’m going to have the book ready for interior and cover design by Sunday.

The Peace Seed Goes Global

As I mentioned, I have big plans and dreams for this little tiny book.

The Peace Seed is a 32–page Messenger Minibook, which means it is 3.5×5 inches (look at one of those little index cards and it’s just a little wider than that). The book will weigh just a bit more than half an ounce. Yet there is much more to The Peace Seed than the little book.

A Messenger MiniBook means that this book has a small size, a special message, and an online activity journal, which developer Robert Evans calls an “online environment” attached to it. I’ve got the online journal just about ready for you as well as the book.

What did I put in t he online environment – the activity journal – for the book? There are several sections which each have some text, a video, and several journal questions you can answer.

How does the online journal environment fit into the book? Inside the book is a website URL and a special code which is your ticket to receive all the extra material. When you answer a question in the space provided, the material is yours alone. Nobody sees it. Not even me. So you write your answers freely and privately.

In addition to the minibook and the online journal environment, you’ll have ThePeaceSeed.com, which is an open interactive blog with stories – including one from you, I hope.

A generous portion of profits from The Peace Seed go to my favorite organization, 10 Million Clicks for Peace. My goal is to sell at least a million books and give at least $1 million USD to the organization.

How will I sell at least a million books? Aside from my own efforts and those of the organization, I get sponsors to make bulk purchases of 1,000 or 3,000 or 5,000 of the little books to distribute. I can also arrange a special printing for any peace, children’s or positive change organization so that both they and 10MC benefit.

The Winning image

The winning cover image for The Peace Seed is this photograph of powerful light shining in cupped hands:

Die Sonne einfangen Royalty Free Stock Photo

(link to image on IStockPhoto)

Why I chose this image is because of the sense of power it conveys. Several people told me this image “jumped out” at them or that it grabbed their attention. The image is not specific enough to put something in your head before you read the book, and it is a real eye-catcher. It will also look good on a little index card sized book. Plus it should be easy enough for the designer to harmonize this image with a back cover color that will be easy to read with text on it.

Ronda Del Boccio The Story Lady and Bonnie Tesh, co-authors of I’ll Push You Steer, on Television

Author’s Note: This is one of many personal narrative examples on this site.

The  morning I appeared on local television was bitter, but inside the car with my mom driving and my co-author Bonnie Tesh, the only thing warmer than the blast of air from the heater was our conversation. We had to leave about 3:30 AM in order to pick up Bonnie and drive to Springfield for our television appearance.

We were about to have a big day. After our early EARLY TV time, we would grab some breakfast and then go to the local Barnes and Noble bookstore to sign copies of our book I’ll Push You Steer: The Definitive Guide to Stumbling Through Lives with Blinders on.

Here’s our first stop at Channel 33 studios:

After our first TV spot (now we’re As Seen on TV!), we had breakfast and went to the bookstore. Now, I adore bookstores and could spend hours in them. I wish we had one here! When I walk into a bookstore, the aroma of paper and ink reminds me how much I adore books – reading them, writing them, talking about them – EVERYTHING!

What’s better than being in a bookstore? Seeing your very own book that you wrote sitting on the shelves. Selling piles of them is really wonderful too.

Bonnie Tesh was much more reserved, though she was excited to see I’ll Push You Steer facing front on the shelves. That is definitely an honor. As for me, well, I am exuberant. I did manage to keep my squeals of joy down to a simmer, but I jumped around with glee.

Here’s a picture of bonnie and I with our book on the shelf at the Springfield, Missouri Barnes and Noble:

I'll Push You Steer book on the shelves at Barnes & Noble
And here we are standing on either side of our book. I still feel a thrill looking at this picture.
We had a great time at the bookstore putting Local Author stickers on our books and signing them. We put stickers saying “autographed copy” on them as well. That actually adds to the value of the book. It’s very cool to get a signed book.
Our contact was kind enough to give us each a latte from the in-house Starbucks to enjoy while we autographed books and applied stickers. That was indeed a memorable day.

Ronda Del Boccio & Bonnie Tesh with their book I'll Push You Steer by you.

When you’re co-authoring a book, it’s always about the team. I got us the TV show and some other media, and Bonnie got us into bookstores. We each had our “area” that we did so that each of us could work from our strength. For I’ll Push You Steer, we each wrote stories taht we divided into categories. What we’ve discovered is that middle school children, and even a few younger, are loving our book. They can read a story and come back later to read another, and it gives them some advice on keeping your joy even in the midst of challenges. Good lessons for anyone, especially our youth.

We’ve had some wonderful adventures. During my travels, I’ve personally sold copies of the book to people on 5 continents. Bonnie did a book signing while she was in Denton, Texas visiting family. We’ve been in a few newspapers, on the radio, on television and all over the internet. We even made a local media event out of signing our contract with our publisher. Bonnie hates how she looks in that picture, so I’ve never posted.

Here we are with Dan Case, our publisher from AWOC Books, at a writer’s conference in Springdale, Arkansas.

Bonnie Tesh, Dan Case & Ronda Del Boccio

Dan Case is about to publish my book The Instant VIP. I am excited to work with such an ethical publisher and to retain all rights to my book. Bonnie Tesh is working on a novel and a book of true stories.

When you publish your book, you will want to take every possible publicity opportunity. Telling the bookstore we had a TV show that same day definitely opened the door for us to get our books on the sehlves, even though people swore up and down that we couldn’t get our book into B&N .

Bonnie and I are both women of strong belief in ourselves. The minute you tell either of us, “You can’t do that!” we say, “Oh yeah? Watch me!”

How to Write a Book: How Do You Create a Compelling Book Cover

How do you create a compelling book cover?

if your book is coming out from a traditional publisher, you don’t have any control over the cover. If you are using a small publisher, chances are excellent that you have at least some control over the cover. And when you publish a book yourself, you are in charge.

A compelling book cover is hugely important. The cover is the first thing people see. It sells the book. Of the 4 stages a book browser goes through as she dsecdes whether to buy, 2 are about the cover. I’ll say more about that in a bit. First, I want to share what happened with my first book that I co-authored with Bonnie Tesh.

When Dan Case of AWOC Books agreed to publish I’ll Push You Steer: THe Definitive Guide to Stumbling through Life with Blinders On,  at first, I wasn’t too  sure I liked the green cover. It quickly grew on me. but at first I wasn’t sure. Dan does wonderful artwork, and like any artist, art isn’t exactly reality. Bonnie hasn’t had blond hair for a while and my 60 lb guide dog doesn’t look like a schnauzer, even though she does on the cover. But the little gren book grew on me. Dan’s artwork perfectly represents the feeling of the book.

Bonnie and I talked to Dan about the idea for us in a fun looking car, and he created an awesome cover.

I’m working on 3 books right now.

Right now I’m creating the cover for The Peace Seed. I have a designer who is part of the Messenger Collective who will do  the cover for me, and  it’s up to me to select the cover image.

The cover has a big job. The image, font and text on the cover need to capture your attention, demonstrate the value of the book, and cause you wo crave a copy of the book and order it.

The Cover and Emotion

The image is what will connect emotionally with the reader. I’ve looked at probably 1000 images for The Peace Seed. Naturally I know what I want the cover to convey. The reader does not, and it is the image that will either cause you to take a look or walk away.

If you are self publishing, the cover is essentially up to you, even if you have a designer.

Give me your opinion

It is a good idea to have people look at some images so you can be sure that what speaks to you will also speak to the ideal customer. I want you to help me select the cover image for The Peace Seed.

One person said he wanted to read the book first and then give an opinion. I I want the gut reaction. All you know is the title at this point. Yes I do have a video up with an excerpt but the point is you will respond to the pictures.

From the title, you know the book has something to do with peace and something to do with storytelling.

I selected 6 images that all would work and I’m letting YOU help me choose. Naturally, I’ve gotten responses all over the place. It’s great when someone lets me know (in the space provided in the survey) why they made the choice they made.

What I did to create the survey:

  1. looked at bunches and bunshes of images and selected a few possibilities.
  2. made a Word document with the selections and gave them a number.
  3. made a PDF using a free program called PDF Printer.
  4. uploaded the  PDF showing the 6 contendors to my blog. so you can access it.
  5. Also turned the document into a jpeg image and uplaoded it.
  6. Asking people for opinions as blog comments.
  7. I sent the survey using email, Twitter, Facebook, SoKule and this blog to ask for your responses.

Bu the way…These are all free tools I used.

Want to play? –> Give me your opinion here.

How a Reader Makes  Book Buying Decision

#1 bestselling author Jason Oman first explained this to me, and it has really been an important understanding. Here are the 4 stages:

1. Front cover

  • image grabs reader emotionally.
  • title grabs attention.
  • subtitle states benefit or promise.

2. Back Cover

  • endorsements from industry leaders
  • book description
  • Author bio/picture

3. Table of contents

  • benefit to reader
  • solution to big problem or way to satiate big passion.

4. Look inside the book

  • know, like & trust author
  • conversational tone
  • real solution

So you see why the cover is such a big deal. And it feels wonderful to hold your own book in your hands, even when it’s the “proof.”

Dr.Mani Sivasubramanian has a new book coming out called 47 Hearts. You don’t see h im in the photo that follows, but he is holding a proof copy of his upcoming book in his hands. That is an AMAZING feeling! He likens holding his book to holding his newborn baby.

I will review his book 47 Hearts in a few days, so please subscribe to RSS so you’ll be the first tocatch every post.

Don't know about other writers, but with every new book, I feel I'm holding my newborn baby!
